Monthly Club Meeting

Minutes for June 7, 2008

 

·        Meeting called to order by President: Calvin Emerson (KC5ARC) at 9:00 am.  This month’s meeting was held at Golden Corral since the True Grits restaurant closed unexpectedly in May.

·        Self-Introductions were made.  There were 3 officers, 17 members/guests present.  2 new members joined

·        Minutes from May meeting were read by Frances (KC5CSC).  Motion made to accept minutes as read by Larry (WW5WOW), seconded by Duane (KD5XI).  Motion passed by show of hands.

·        Treasurer’s report was read by Frances.  With no activity since Mar 1, the club account balance is $854.13.  Motion made to accept treasurer’s report as read by Kathy England and seconded by Dale (N5EDB).  Motion passed by show of hands.

·        Raffle tickets were sold.  $19 was received.

·        Old Business

o       Repeater – Calvin indicated no change since last report.  He and Duane need to arrange time to pull everything out and re-rack.  Calvin plans to meet with RSU officials to see about easier access to the equipment.

o       Technician classes finished 5/7.  3 students testing and 3 still need to do so.  John Meek took 3 tests and passed with only 1 question missed.  He is a new Extra class. The other two who tested are technician class. 

o       Homeland Security Grants – Committee is still developing list of equipment.

·        New Business

o       Field Day will be June 28/29.  RCWA will have equipment setup at the Elks Club facilities in Claremore.  Dale has indicated he will have chili there.  Please bring your own pop and Fritos if you want.  Five other clubs have joined together to hold a grand event at 51st and 129th E Ave in Tulsa.  Ken indicated that Mayes county plans to set up at Snowdale park between Pryor and Locust Grove

o       Drawing done for 2 small prizes.

·        Announcement:

o       An Oklahoma representative has been added to the Arkansas 70cm link system.  444.250 or 444.025 with 100 as pl tone.

o       Calvin presented a receipt for $88.99 for reimbursement for meats purchased for the spring picnic on May 3.  Motion made by Larry (KC5UOQ) and 2nd by Kathy to reimburse same amount.  Passed by show of hands.

·        Motion made by Larry Little, 2nd by Dale to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 9:30.
