Old Business
o Calvin presented the receipt from Walke Brothers for
the meats provided for the Fall picnic in the amount of $85.80.
o Calvin asked if there were any interested in further
experimentation with fox hunts. After
an explanation of what ‘fox hunt’ meant, there was indication of interest and
desire to keep it low-key and for club members until more experience has been
gained.
o Repeater – Calvin indicated no change and still
working on approach to gain easier access to RSU campus. A visit by lead engineer at the RSU TV
station has provided some insight to situation that occurred that caused RCWA
keys to be taken away. Dirk is in the process of drafting a letter of
introduction to the new president. Once
we’ve followed protocol and managed to get a meeting with the president, we can
then look at approaching the college committee for longer term solution to our
dilemma.
o Bylaws – Dirk indicated we are waiting on review by
one other person. Once returned, we
will assemble and mail packets to membership with instructions for getting them
reviewed, modified, approved and put into affect. There are enough changes and of some possible controversy that
item-by-item approval may be needed. That will be determined once reviewed
version has been returned.
·
New Business
o Dirk introduced possibility of setting up several
frequencies at the DAV for Jamboree on the Air for the scouts. There was considerable interest by those in
attendance. 6, 10, 15, 20 and perhaps
40m as well as PSK (a digital packet-like messaging system) and slow-scan are
expected to be set up. For those
interested,

o Dirk introduced possibility of participation in the
Will Rogers Days parade on November 1st and/or the Veteran’s Day
parade on November 11th.
There was some interest and if we do participate the $35 fee will be
paid by the Marine Corp League. There
was little interest shown in the possibility of a special event station for
Will Rogers Days though it has not been ruled out.

appreciated. Please, no weaponry (guns,
